Vaccinations
There are two vaccines available for the prevention of fatal diseases in rabbits. The vaccines are against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease.
Both these diseases are usually fatal in an unprotected rabbit. Rabbits can start their vaccination programme as early as 6 weeks of age.
A Myxomatosis vaccine booster is usually given yearly in May/early June to provide immunity over the last half of the year when the incidence of myxomatosis is more common.
The vaccine lasts for about 6 months, in some circumstances another booster may be required so that immunity lasts for a whole year. A Viral Haemorrhagic Disease vaccine booster is given yearly.
Worming
A special palatable liquid rabbit wormer can be given to prevent and treat internal parasites and Encephalitozoon cuniculi.Neutering
Neutering for both Does and Bucks can be carried out from 4 months of age.Training
Rabbits can be trained to live indoors with you as House Rabbits.

Microchipping
The microchip is inserted along the back between the shoulder blades and carries a unique 15 digit number specific to your rabbit. The number is registered on the national Petlog data base.
Reunification with your lost pet is much quicker once the microchip has been scanned and your details retrieved from the Petlog data base.
